As part of our exploration of North American, we "visited" Canada. Ju- Ju learned all the names and locations of the provinces quickly. She is really quite good at her geography. She researched and wrote about the Niagara Falls. We learned about sugaring and made blueberry pancakes with real maple syrup. She learned about the Inuit people, and we all made snowshoes. We went for a foliage walk and collected Maple leaves, the leaf on the Canadian flag, and made crayon presses. Ju- Ju also began reading, and completed one of my all time favorite books, Anne of Green Gables, by L.M Montgomery. This book is set on Prince Edward's Island in Canada. We had a fun last few weeks in North America. Next, we "fly" to South America for an exploration of tropical rainforests and Brazil!
