We are going to attempt to try and modify our diet a bit this year. We are going to try a modified Paleo diet, but with dairy. It is going to be a process for sure. June Bug and Roo are natural meat eaters so taking grains out of their diet isn't going to be a challenge at all. The biggest thing for Rob and I is our addiction to sugar...no really...it is bad. So cutting sweets all together just seemed too impossible, so we are going to start small. I found this recipe on a website called Paleo Plan that has a bunch of great free recipes. This recipe uses almond flour (ground but- no carbs and lots of protein). It is expensive though. I am going to have to look into buying this stuff bulk if we really go this route. The other awesome thing about this recipe is that there is no refined sugar!!! These cookies are pretty good. ( Although, I will say the cookie dough was really good!) The cookies turned out a bit dry for cookies, but good for mini scones! The girls loved them, regardless, and with a cup of coffee these more healthy treats were quite enjoyable!
