"If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above,
where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
For you have died, and your new life is hidden with Christ in God.
When Christ who is your life appears,
then you also will appear with him in glory."
Unfortunately, June Bug fell ill on Wednesday morning and was diagnosed with her first ear infection ever- a double ear infection. Poor girl! By Friday, Roo also woke up with a high fever, so many of our Good Friday/Easter plans have had to be postponed or cancelled. I was bummed, but I am trusting that God's timing is perfect and I am taking this Saturday morning to rest in Him, while my girls too rest. May your weekend be blessed!
" For God so loved the world, that He gave His only son,
So that everyone who believes in Him will not be lost,
but will be with Him forever in Heaven."
BOOKS OF THE WEEK:
LETTER OF THE WEEK: M and E
By: Paul Baloche
You are the God that saves me,
Worthy of all my praises.
Come have Your way among us,
we welcome you here, Lord Jesus!
ART CONNECTION: (Not so Egg-cellent) Embroidery Thread Eggs
CRAFTY CORNER: Celebratory Banners
(June Bug and Leila's banner read, "Hosanna," the name we learned the week leading up to Palm Sunday that people shouted out to Jesus as He rode into Jerusalem on a donkey.)
DRAMATIC PLAY: Story Time Box of the Easter Story
MONTESSORI-INSPIRED WORK BOXES
Egg Letter Match
For this activity I wrote out lower case letters on a small piece of fabric. I also wrote lower case letters on each half of a plastic egg. The girls had to match up the egg to the letter on the cloth. This was a fun one!
Colored Sticks in the Tin
I saw this idea on numerous mom blogs about simple, inexpensive fine motor skill learning activities you could make at home. Genius really. ALL the girls loved this one, even Roo was able to begin matching up the colors.
Life Cycle of a Duck
Using the magnetic pictures, the girls had to try to put the life cycle from egg to adult of a duck in order. This activity went along nicely with our book, The Noisy Egg.
Letter Matching Word Puzzles
Roo really liked to dump all of these letters. Something about them just stirred up in her a desire to dump them everywhere, every time! These puzzles are still a bit challenging for the girls, but my hope is as we re-start the alphabet focusing primarily on lower case letters these will become easier and easier.
