Parable of the Seed: Matthew 13: 1-23 Pop- Up Book
I have been trying to find ways to engage Ju-Ju, my 8 year old step-daughter, into our "school" routine. We spent some time reading the Parable of the Seed from Matthew 13 with Daddy a few nights ago. I used containers filled with sand, rocks and "good" soil to help bring Jesus' analogies to life. She really got into this. I wanted to figure out a way to expand upon our reading later on in the week too. In digging in her closet for her laundry basket today, I found this Pop-Up Book kit that she got for her birthday. We decided to make a book paraphrasing the verses and illustrating it. This kit was really great. It had many ideas of how to make the story "pop" off the page. There are pieces you can move, flaps you can open, and many other 3d elements. Check out what she came up with in the slideshow below. It is AWESOME! She did such a great job!
I am a child of God, a wife, and a full-time stay-at-home mom, step-mom, teacher and caretaker. I pray that this blogencourages and spurs on others in similar life spaces as me, as I have been and continue to be encouraged by others who too document their days in this manner.
