"The Lord said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh and say to him,
'Let my people go, so that they may worship the Lord."
Bible Adventure: The Story of Moses, Exodus 1-13
We also talked about the 10 plagues, or as we called them, opportunities God gave Pharaoh to change his mind and obey God's requests. As we would go through the plagues, we would sing the song, (with hand motions, of course!) "Pharaoh, Pharaoh, oh baby, let my people go! (Uh!) Yeah, yeah, yeah!" The girls loved this! We used this as an opportunity to remind ourselves that God's desire for us to listen and obey is out of love. It is to protect us, not to harm us. When we don't listen to God, and our parents and teachers- we are still loved no matter what- but sometimes there are painful consequences that can hurt us and / or others.
Theme Adventure: "i is for insects"
ABC and 123: 'i' and '2'
We have begun more intentionally learning the number symbols as well. Last week we practiced recognizing and writing the number 1 and this week we focused on the number 2. The girls practiced tracing over the shape of the number with a marker. They also pulled out their binoculars from their tool boxes and we searched through the house for 1s and 2s. This was very fun! Who knew that searching for numbers could be so exciting? Last week the girls glued buttons onto the lines of the number one. This week the girls glued pieces of yarn to create the lines need to make the number 2. We are creating a number line on our wall as we learn a new number each week.
